Pop Top Pandemonium

by Amy Cada, age 16, US

Do you want to have fun and help others?

My name is Amy Cada and in 1996 at age 15 I started a national community service organization called USA Kids Kare. One of our programs is called, Pop Top Pandemonium 2001, and we need your help! We have challenged young people across the country to collect 1 billion pop tops (the pull tabs from the top of beverage cans) by January 1, 2001 for Ronald McDonald Houses. Ronald McDonald Houses allow parents and families of seriously ill children to stay near hospitals during treatment or surgery. Pop tops are collected because they are very valuable and can be recycled as scrap metal and the money then can be given to Ronald McDonald Houses across the country.

Collecting pop tops is easy and fun. You can collect pop tops at home, school, and lots of other places. To make it super-easy for you, USA Kids Kare has produced a free Pop Top Pandemonium 2001 "how-to guide" and a monthly newsletter to update you as we try to collect one billion by 2001. So start collecting those pop tops and write or e-mail us for the free kit and newsletter. Join us as we show the world that kids can make a difference!

To get involved e-mail USA Kids Kare at ikkusa@aol.com or write us at:
